Projects

In times of disaster or crisis IMAT responds with or without it's partner organizations.  Leveling every resource in an effort to quickly and effectively mitigate human suffering and preserve the dignity of effected populations.  Typically, IMAT will respond within 72 hrs with Pathfinder Teams in cooperation with CMAT and The Eagles Wings Foundation in an effort to provide vast amounts of critical information to any Emergency Operations Center or relevant Cluster in order to mitigate individual or populous circumstances as expeditiously as possible.  Our follow up capacity includes a field hospital with emergency surgical capabilities, primary care and a suitable database to provide ongoing rotational deployments for 90 days subject to board approval.

Our IMAT-Pathfinders are rigorously screened, highly trained, rugged individuals that are typically firefighter / Paramedics with specialties in technical rescue or hazmat but not limited to that profile.  They also typically have SPHERE humanitarian standard and FEMA training.  They are fully self contained and able to function without drawing from limited resources within the theater of operations.  Circumstances are infinitely variable and require extreme flexibility.  IMAT-Pathfinders are extremely cohesive teams that are logistical specialists and create order out of chaos.

On the heels of our Pathfinder Teams or on occasion in conjunction with our Pathfinders are our IMAT-Medical Volunteers that respond to a theater of operations based on information and criteria fed back through our Pathfinders or otherwise based on feasibility and effectiveness assessment.

We do our best to preserve relationships beyond disaster response in order to provide volunteer opportunities outside our 90 day disaster or crisis response mandate.  Sometimes this means non medical volunteer opportunities that are a result of relationships formed and the evolution of needs other than medical.  Such as food, water of shelter distribution.  Other times it means the staffing of medical facilities that require volunteer staffing in order to provide care for effected populations outside of our 90 day mandate.

Currently we have a number of relationships in Haiti.  However, viable volunteer opportunities are limited to Haiti at this time.
